Fixed the Trunk.....Yay!!! A question too

Well I figured out why my trunk opened so violently. It was a combination of the spring setting (as alot of people have suggested) and a rubber stop that was missing. I removed the trunk lining and saw that the stopper had fallen off. Some super glue and a spring adjustment, and the thing works as good as new!

Also, I was trying to remove the door panel, but could not. I removed all of the screws (behind SRS, behind handle, plate piece and latch) and unclipped everything (as well as removed tweeter). I can look behind the panel but cannot detach it from the door. It seems locked at the top, near the handle. Any ideas? I searched and read that it just pulls off but I can't get it. (I have a rattle that I want to fix)

are you trying to remove the driver's side door? if you are, there is one small bolt that you need to reach from inside the door panel out. it is exactly where you describe it....in the middle of the door, behind the door handle. once you remove that bolt from the inside out, the door panel will come right off.

CLKAL, Are you saying there is another bolt behind the handle? I removed the "half of the door pull" and unscrewed the BIG bolt, I think I got them all, but if not, you got any pics??? Or an even better description? It would help, I'm tryin' to get that door off...........thanks.

Rick

(PS- Sorry about last week, I was on the defensive....)

no problem. I don't have any pics, but i did watch my car audio installer quite closely as he was having trouble removing the door panel as well (2 years ago). you need to hold the bottom half of the door panel "open" and reach up with one arm all the way up inbetween the door and and door panel until you feel the bolt. loosen it until it comes off and the whole door panel will come off.
