Chrome vs Silver?

Chrome vs Silver?
Hello all, I am in the process of upgrading my rims and I don't know if I want to go chrome or stay with the silver look. My clk is brilliant silver and I heard from some people that chrome rims and a silver car is a no-no so I need some advice and if you have any pictures of a silver clk with chrome rims please post them.
Thanks!
Glen

Well it's all a matter of opinion, but I'm not a fan of chrome on silver cars. Chrome looks much nicer on darker colors or perhaps on white, IMO

Whats wrong with chrome on silver? The colors match well, and IMHO I do not like the chrome on blu/black/dark cars, think it is better for silver/white cars because of the common hue.... or whatever you call it. Chrome/silver match because of the "shine" they give off, for instance silverish tint on a silver car, looks PHAT! On black, looks ghetto........

a nice polished wheel or lip is great on any car though. most people stick with silver or polished face because its classier.
darker wheels look dirty most times unless you stick ur face to it to realize that its actually just painted black

When I first got my CLK I was a very big fan of chrome rims. Heck, I used to like chrome everything. After seeing different setups with chrome and silver, I definitely think that silver rims on a silver CLK look way better.

Just my 2c here... I think on a silver car, the wheels look better in silver. I am not a big fan of chrome on any car, but on my past 2 cars, both have been silver and both wheels were silver.

I think I am still leaning towards silver wheels with a polished lip but does anyone have any pics of a silver clk w/chrome wheels?

Silver or a polished wheels have a much more classier and clean look. I gave up on chrome a few years ago after seeing them on everything from Ford Pintos to Hyudai Santa fe's. The thing iz these fools actually think their rides look hot with their wack wheels on their wack rides. Someone needs to save the planet.

18 x 8.5 front 235/40 18
18 x 9.5 rear 265/35 18
trust me high polished is the way to go...I couldnt tell you how nice and classy they look in real life...those pics do not do it justice
also go as meaty as you can on the tires to complete the look
almost any car can have 18" but a 265 or 275 rear tires only a selected few

Chrome = bling bling showing off impressing the kids
Silver = big boy with real taste on silver cars that only impress the big boys with real tastes.
Conclusion = chrome if u want every body to go thumbs up silver if u want ppl with real taste to go thumbs up. that's how i understand from it since i see ppl looking at chrome hubcaps on a corrola and go "thats' nice" (they don't know crap)
lol just my opinion on it

I had chrome wheels on my silver 430 and my white 320, and I think they looked really good. The wheels I had were really clean in chrome though. I think that the wheel finish should depend more on the style of the wheel rather than the color of the car.
I did pick up some brushed aluminum wheels for my silver CLK, they should look really nice.
