Drove My 1999 CLK 430 Into Water. In Dire Need Of Help, Please.
I have removed the spark plugs and used a compressor to blow water out of the engine. When checking the dip stick does not look like any water entered. When doing that a ton of water came out of the muffler.
I wanted to remove the spark plugs to start the engine and blow any water out, but my problem is that when I put my key in, nothing happens! I started it one time, which was the next day after it flooded and it cranked for half a second and it shot water out of the muffler and since then it will not allow to even turn the key to any position at all.
Normally the dash should light up when I put the key or even my finger in and nothing happens now. The battery has been replaced and all fuses have been checked. On the passenger side of the car a bunch of wires did get corroded, as shown in the pics. I have used electronic cleaner to remove any corrosion to make better contact but some wires did break off and I will need to fix those. Can I just use butt connectors to reattach them together? Will any of these wires prevent the key from turning? Any help at all would be much appreciated. Somebody please help. Thanks

Some wires just snapped out of the housing.
I have since cleaned out all of them.
Sorry, I thought pics were uploaded. Would I just be able to use butt connectors to hard wire the wires back to each other?
Since the dash won't light up I am thinking something burned out; How would I find this out?
@sick430 It is a possibility but this does not explain why the dash does not light up.
I do not get any response when putting the key in the ignition.
