Any Advice on Lowenharts???

Help!
Forgive me in advance b/c I am not very technical when it comes to tires and wheels, but last year I bought a 2000 CLK 430 with a set of Lowenhart LD1 19"s and have had trouble ever since! I have had five - FIVE flat tires b/c I have bent the wheel and/or run the tire flat. I love the way it looks, but this is killing me! I am nervous to drive the car the way I really want to - fast. Could it be my driving or is this pretty common with these size wheels??? (the tires are 245-35-19 - front and back, which I heard might not be the best set-up)

I am thinking about getting some five spoke AMG 18’s – does anyone have a pic with these kind of wheels?

Anyway, any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated!!! Also, any photo-chops w/ recommended wheels are welcome too.

That's almost a yes - I am going to see a guy who has fixed them for me before and get his take - I think I can trust him. And see what I want to spend on new ones, or what the AMG's are going to cost me (and make sure I like they way it looks) and then I will sell these (and the wheels too).

Lowenharts are....cruising rims, theyre not track rims. Theyre not great at handling potholes and what not so you must be careful with them.

Why are you driving agressively with 19" lowenhart wheels? The wheels are very heavy and you dont have alot of tire to work with on a clk. You have @ best a 45 series tires trying to protect a huge 19 inch wheel. If you dont have any self control then no matter what size wheel you have, you are going to experience bent and cracked wheels... In addition to all the money its going to cost to keep fixing the wheels and replacing the tires that you mess up by riding on them flat... Trust me ive been there, you either need to slow down or get some 16's...

Thanks for the advice - I have never had wheels this large before, and I actually do try to be more careful, but I probably do way too much driving for wheels these big. These things make me nervous when I back into my garage at 2 mph and have to crank the wheel all the way to one side. I feel like I might roll the tires right off!!! (They were on the car when I bought it at the dealer - so I didn't go out and get them myself.) Unfortunately , I have to use the car for more than just cruising - work, out to the river, mountains, fighting LA and OC traffic etc....

Will I have similar problems with the AMG five spoke 18's - with tires that give me more cushion????

Thanks again...
