yeah...the "rest" button is used when you are tired and want to take a rest, but still want to drive. It's pretty much like an auto-drive feature....pretty rare to come with 1999 CLK320's. You are a lucky guy! Any more questions? lol j/k....i have no idea what the rest button is.

The "rest" button

Is "restore"...it maintains a 72 degree cabin temp when the engine is off. Simply depress when the engine is off, and it will maintain 72 degrees for as long as the engine temp allows.

That's my translation of its function.

"Rest" is actually short for "residual heat", pressing this button when the vehicle is turned off (but was recently driven) will turn on the climate control and force the engineds residual heat into the cabin. Great for winter when you run into a store for 10-15 minutes, will keep your car warm.

i bought my service manual from dealer. it was like 27 bucks or something. or u can call 1800FORMERC and order it there.

where is the "rest" button? i don't remember seeing it on my car. is it on the same row as where heated seat controls are?

It is to the right of the fan speed button...comes in handy here in the midwest!

I likes clkal's explanation better. Sometimes I have been driving for a while and just need a rest too! What a great feature.

Do a search in the forum for the W208 parts list, I think 2001CLK post it not long ago.
