The 320 is a stonker, however I would suggest you move up to a 2000 model to get the facelift.
Mechanically they are bulletproof. Outside of the wear items you should be fine. Most of the problems are electrical, so test everything and be really thorough. AC vents, central locking, rear backrests, trunk opening are all vacuum operated, so a problem with any of these means a faulty pump or a leak.
The engine should run buttery smooth. The transmission should shift buttery smooth. If it's not been serviced properly you may be in for a world of pain. Pay attention to the 1-2 upshift. Countless full-throttle launches will take their toll.
Other than that... Throttle cables snap every now and then leaving some people stranded. Alternator voltage regulator brushes wear out suddenly to the same effect. Steering boxes on some cars are done due to the mileage they accumulate.
Get it to a reputable mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection and you should be good to go.
