Question Power Supply in the gloves box

I would like to install a power supply socket into the gloves box just in front of the passenger seats. I should be able to power up a Nomad Jukebox drive (Creative hardware that requires 12 Volts and 1.25 Amp) wired to the Comand system via the AUX input. My first idea was to ask the dealer to fit in a special plug (like the onces that fit the back of the Nokia mobile phones) only for this *kind-of* walkman, then I thought that may be better to have an extra lighter-alike kind of socket. This would provide a standard connector for power supply car adaptors.
Now the questions are:
- is this the best way to go for?
- will this interfere with other devices (e.g. air bags)?
- is there any chance to have temperature issues?
- is there any *standard* recomandation to be followed for this?

Any suggestion welcome!
Thnx
