In the BMW world we overfill by a half quart or so to autocross or do track work due to the higher .g forces.

If one was to autocross a CLK430, can you overfill that engine to any degree without harm?

And if so, how would you reset this warning light?

You car's computer as thrown a fault code. It must be read using an OBDII scanner that is compatible with Mercedes-Benz. Once the code is read, your fault can be diagnosed and fixed. After the problem is fixed, the fault can be re-set using the same tool.

haters crazy
Are you saying that if your engine senses an overfill of oil you have to take it to the dealer to reset the warning? That doesn't make sense though, shouldn't u be able to decrease the amount of oil and then the warning goes away?

You can either go to the dealer and have it cleared or wait and see if it corrects itself on it's own (may take several hundred miles).

If it still shows up, you may have a bad sensor.
