will a CD Changer from an

2002 CLK work in a 2001 E Class? Is the E Class pre-wired for fiber-optic ? Thanks

yes. it is the exact same changer. All you need to do is purchase the e-class bracket . All the E's and Clks come prewired......

Thanks, I looked and could not find any wires, which side is it located on, and do I have to remove anything to gain access to the cables?

if the 97 e 420 (even though it uses a different changer) has the same location as your newer e-class, the wires should be on the driver's side , behind the trunk lining in the rear portion of the trunk. Wish i could help you more.
