Well its official, my beloved CLK is off to the scrap-yard in the sky ! all thanks to some idiot who ran into the back of me.
Damage was bumper, boot (trunk), lights and floor pan, and was not economical to repair.
I had the car for 10 years straight and in that time have learned so much from the forum and have taught others on my experiences too !
In summary the car was a joy to have and seldom gave me troubles with each and every day bringing a big fat smile to my face when driven, I think the styling with the high raked back and headlights is timeless and has been copied but never repeated by other car companies !
I’ll pop back now and see if I can help out from time to time. Now off to the world of Audi !
Beautiful car!!You can tell you cared for it well! I know how you feel. I just hit a huge dog on the interstate going 75mph. My insurance company totaled my car also and gave me a check, but I was able to buy it back for a small price. It's such a great car that I hate to see it go to a junk yard. I'm hoping to sell it and let someone with body repair knowledge fix it up. I think my brother in law wants it and wants to do that and give it to my little nephew (his grandson). They are such great cars and the styling is timeless. Seriously, I have always gotten comments on it every week at least and have been for 8 years! Sorry to hear of your loss! Good luck!
So here is my new ride, Audi A4 B6 1.8 Turbo cab. The car is in in excellent condition with lovely tan leather interior. I've sorted a blocked breather issue and some minor issues that just needed TLC, the gear box is sublime! So now learning all about Audi or VW !

Do you know.. I'm lovin it !! the smiles you get from people when the roof is down expecially in the winter . The car has incredible heated seats with 6 settings that compensate when the roof is down and keeps you warm.
