AMG Steering Wheel

I just got the black leather AMG steering wheel from Steve, without the airbag.
Anybody knows where can I get AMG center part/air bag to fit the steering wheel.

the most obvious question would be, "why didn't you get the airbag part from Steve also?"

He, he...obviously cause he doesn't have it. I thought the steering wheel was coming complete as shown in the picture, but it didn't.

I paid $425 for the steering wheel, Steve says that a new amg air bag will run $900 which is too much! Anybody knows where can I get one at a decent price?

I know a place in Northern Cali that you can order any car part you want. The problem is that you have to meet in person in this back alley. You bring cash, they bring the item. No questions asked.

isn't the airbag the same as the regular CLK steering wheel? or are you refering to the AMG leather wrapped center piece?

That's correct, and I think that's part of the airbag too.

I thought the AMG leather part is just the cover, but if that's part of the airbag it'll most likely be very expensive.

I would just use the oem one if that's the case.

I think Steve should offer you some sort of solution since he played a major role in creating this problem for you. If that picture is what he sent you and made you believe that was exactly what you were getting then thats false advertising. He didnt let you know at all that you were going to have to spend an additional $1000 to get it to work???? ?thats bull****...

wowowow - slow down a bit!

If one is to buy a steering wheel from me after one read THIS POST on this forum - one knows what I am offering:
I have a couple of black on black original new mercedes AMG steering wheels for sale for the updated W208s (00+)...425USD incl. shipping per international priority post from the Netherlands to the US (the airbag is not included)...
I might have asked an additional 2 or 3 times through email to make sure that the actual buyer read that the airbag was not included - but I thought it was pretty obvious (as it was written in the post and because of the price).

Due to circumstances theine has a new AMG steering wheel without an AMG airbag...if I had an AMG airbag (which I had...and way more then 1), I would have sold him one, but I haven't got a single one anylonger.

I might be wrong, but I don't feel responsable for theine not having an AMG airbag with his AMG steering wheel.

greetingz,

I've never seen a steering wheel come with the airbag/button assembly. In all the cases I've seen you need to swap your airbag/button assembly over to the new wheel or purchase the correct assembly if yours is not the same type/fitment.
