HP 275 or 279?

HP 275 or 279?
Hi everyone,
I'm a little confused with the horse power calculation on the 430. Some sources say it has 279 HP and majority of the sources said 275 HP. So my question is which HP do we all go by? Which is the correct spec?

There are two different HP ratings systems
in the US we use the S.A.E. net method (4.3L V8 = 275 hp)
in Europe, the D.I.N. method is used and the figures will be slightly higher (for example 4.3L V8 = 279 hp)
Also, depending on which chassis the engine is installed in, W208, W210, W220, W163 there are different exhaust system configurations. The more roomy engine bays and underbodys generally have less exhaust restriction and slightly higher HP figures...

I was informed by our local dealers here that European spec benzo's have higher air compression ratios than those of US specs, hence the better performance.
