Keeping the CLK 430 past warranty.

Keeping the CLK 430 past warranty.
My warranty is about to expire and I'm thinking about selling my 2001 CLK 430 with 37K miles on it. It has been mechanically strong in the drivetrain dept but it has had several minor warranty repairs (speedo, gas level sensor, side view mirrors, etc).
My buddy has a 2001 C240 with a 6sp manual trans with about 40K miles and his transmission gave out last year, plus he had a huge number of electric problems.
Both he and I are shopping for new cars, but both of us would like to keep our cars to use for a few more years. His car is one of the first of the new C classes and my car was one of the last of the CLKs, so the bugs are probably worked out on my car and less so on his.
How many people have kept their CLKs pass the warranty period and has there been many problems?

I have over 83,000 miles with no troubles at all. I had the initial "no start" trouble. But that is simply lubing the starter, which my mechanic has done twice...costs about an extra $60. Seems to occur about once a year maybe.
It has been trouble free since I've owned it and has the usual interior noises that accompany most CLK's. I also made the mistake of putting new Pirelli P6000 tires on recently. These tires are so loud I think I am going to take them off and put something different on after only a month of driving these! argh!
Anyway, no troubles here on 83,000+ miles! I just want a newer CLK430 or the 55!
Take care!

105k miles on my '00 430 and no problems (knock on wood). I love the car and have maintained it pretty meticulously since I bought it. I can't believe I'll have had it for 5 years in December

For nearly what you will pay in sales tax alone on a new car, you can go to a Chrysler Dealership and buy the Chrysler Maximum Care Warranty 7-100,000 bumper to bumper, for about 3000.00
( Same Co. as MBz ), thats another 4yrs on your warranty, at the price of about 62.50 per month, and be able to sleep at night, the other thing is, it is so hard to find another car better looking than what you have, so many of the new one's are kinda chic cars, just my 0.2

Why don't you purchase an extended warranty if you are concerned? I don't know this first hand, but was told that AAA's platinum extended warranty is actually pretty good.

Im going down to my local chrysler dealership this weekend to get my warranty. I bought my WRX there so they said to give them 200.00 over cost and its a done deal!

i just hit 83000 miles the other day. I bought my car with less than 10K on it. True, the car has a lot of little problems here and there, but nothing major so far (knock on wood). So far, all I had to fix was : rear sunshade (3 times), A/C evap temp sensor, 2 front O2 sensors, mass air flow sensor, had to realign the doors twice, cd changer went bezerk, and a few more little things i can't remember off the top of my head. My car drives stronger NOW than it did when i first bought it.
