Has anyone upgraded their factory stereo? And what brand?
Does Mercedes sell a better stereo for the CLK 430?
I like the features that the factory stereo gives (like the volume on the steering wheel,etc).

I upgraded to a alpine xm radio single cd changer head unit, zapco competition amp and focal utopia speakers. Lost the steering wheel controls, but it sounds about 5000 times better.

there has been a few threads in the forums about upgrading stereos. i upgraded my stereo completely with alpine iva-c800, dvd-5205, alpine 12-disc cd changer, alpine mobile vcr, rockford amps, mb quart 3 way component and rear coaxials, 15 inch kicker sub.

I just recently had my front right door mid and tweeter stop working.
MB service center swapped radios and tested the individual speakers which worked correctly; however, the problem still remains. They have a new amp on order to see if the amp is the problem.
And clues?
