Anyone know if there is a MB TSB for the faulty instrument cluster problem on the MY2000> ? Regarding the pixels missing?

Yes, I believe there is a TSB. See #44 (DDAF54_30-U-240AUG 99 Digits in Display Become Darker/Not Legible) on the following link:

I don't have access to MB TSB's, so I can't verify that for sure. Maybe someone on this board can post the TSB.

 

Do they replace it for free if there is a TSB? Cuz I replaced my whole cluster for the updated one just for this problem and it would suck if they were supposed to do it for free.

 

Mine happened while under warranty, and I didn't get it fixed as dealer BS'ed saying the whole dash needing taking out, then at my last service they said it easy to swap. Now the car is out warranty, and MB said they will pay half, which is not acceptable.

It is possible that this defect is covered under a "secret warranty." Particularly if you live in California, Connecticut, Virginia, and Wisconsin - these states have adopted legislation to enforce (to some degree) these additional warranties. Refer to the following links for details:

I would like to draw up a list to make Mercedes, acknowledge there is an issue, as they are saying it is the first they have heard of this problem with the cluster.

I would appreciate people who have had this problem to just mention their dealer name (if possible) so they can speak to them.

All in all this will help everyone as I believe this is becoming a comman issue, it is just a matter of time for those that don't have it.
