CLK320 Good Deal?
Hi there,
I'm considering buying a 1998 CLK320 Elegance with 241,000km on the clock. Aesthetically the exterior and interior are in perfect condition and the car has passed MOT (road safety test) for this year.
Price: EUR2100 / GBP£1780 / USD$2250
Is this a good deal? My only concern is the amount of mileage is has - 241,000km, though its spent its life in central Spain (which is dry and hot (almost no humidity) for 80% of the year, away from the coast) so I'm guessing the climate is more merciful than the constant rain back in UK. I've heard also that these cars can do up to 300k - 400k km before going to scrap?
Any advice?
Thanks

MBWorld Fanatic!
The W208 series has been pretty bullet proof, but that is a lot of mileage.
Additionally, the early production models did have some teething issues (e.g. harmonic balancer). Model year 2001 on, has all the updates/refinements.
For the money, or a tad more, you should be able to find one, with half the mileage.
Either way, the documented maintenance is key.
