W208 Starter got stuck ON even after switch ignition off and key out
Hello everyone , I just got registered , I am first time owner a MB W208 CLK 230 Kompressor ( LPG/Petrol) .
Let me share with You what I just happened to me these days , one day in the morning I got into the car just about to go to work , so I sit in the car , I put the key in than switched ignition ON and i clicked the key to start , the engine starts but the starter continued to works and than I switched back to OFF and i toke the key out , but the starter got still working and keep trying to start the engine , so I putted again the key in switched ON ( not clicked as usual , just to position ON) and the engine started , the damn starter was still ON , so I couldn't do anything , I had to take of the Ground cable from the battery and than i did make the starter off , after that the engine started normal no issues and I went to work . I thought it might be just some fault , but unfortunately not now I got this happening almost every time I try to start the car. I would like to ask you guys what you can suggest , to put it on STAR diagnostics and see if its from the electronic key module or to check the starter for sticky solenoid , I checked with the specialist in my country and 2 guys said that its very possible that the issue is coming from the key module or some rele getting stuck or bad contact . I will be very grateful if You have an idea what is best to do at this moment , and how can I get a cheap solution , I say a cheap because to be honest the car is cheap but I know the repairs can be very expensive and I just want to avoid that.
