Throttle Lag
Hello everyone - newbie member here.
I'd be grateful for any advice on this issue:
My wife's early 1999 W208 CLK320 (109K miles) has started to suffer dreadful throttle lag especially from idle, low down with light throttle opening. It's a complete momentary flame-out on all cylinders. I can actually get it to stall, but it will 'tease-through' and then run fine. Makes pulling out of junctions just way to exciting....
It appears to be getting worse gradually, with no (EML) fault light showing. MAF & Crank sensors have been replaced along with Fuel filter and Fuel pump, throttle body stripped and cleaned. I'm thinking possibly O2 sensors? (Still original).
Would an OBD (round port, under hood) scan show anything given there is no EML displayed? If so, is a 15 dollar ebay scanner likely to be of any help, or should I just take it to the local indy?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated, and any info/experiences regarding swapping out of O2 sensors.
Thanks!
