Tire rub

I'm running 235/35/19 in the front and 265/30/19 in the rear and when I am in reverse I rub in the front against the plastic piece in the front of the fender. I also noticed when I had my wheels off this weekend that I had some rubbing on the plastic piece at the top of the fender and a bit to both sides. Do you guys have this problem too? Thanks for the input.

Exact same problems with my 19's and lowered. It isn't a bad rubbing issue but still you hate to reverse and turn at the same time.

I used H&R/Bilstein. I think there are a few good setups out there, but I love mine. I just threw 17's back on mine and I don't have any issues what so ever. I put them on just to track the car.

Two cars with the exact same engine, exact same suspension, and exact same drop with the exact same wheels... there can still be a chance where one car will rub and one car won't rub...

Part of the equation comes down to which tire you are using. I have Yokohama AVS Sports on my CLK, and its lowered quite a bit, and in the beginning, it use to rub just a little on extreme turns... Now, after a few thousand miles, the tire has worn a little, and no more rubbing occurs.

If you notice EXCESSIVE rubbing right now, then either your car is really really low, which means you'll need to pound out the fenderwell.... or, the offsets on your wheels are wrong/or not the best suited for your situation, in which case, you can TRY correcting with spacers

hope this helps a bit

im running 275/30/19 in the rear and my car is pretty much slammed with H&R cup kit with dot 1 spring pads in the rear. dont have too much of a problem back there unless its a pretty big dip. running 235/35/19 in the front with the same suspension, dont really rub at all
