Question 2002 clk430 blowing 40 amp fuse

I bought a used clk430 a few months back and love the car but recently started blowing the 40 amp fuse for the top. I did remove the 250 bolts and replaced the relay but didn't seem to help. Strange part is when it blows a fuse I can replace it and it might work 4 or 5 more times and when unexpected pop the fuse..Any ideas?

The 40 ampere fused circuit is very straightforward.

Battery -> fuse -> controller closes relay contacts to power motor -> motor -> vehicle ground.

If your hydraulic pump motor begins pulling to much current, the fuse will blow.
