2000 Mercedes-Benz CLK 320
Key FOB Not Functioning Correctly/Weird

Hello, I have a 2000 CLK320. When I purchased the car the Key Fob batteries were dead so I switched them out today and when I press on the buttons ounce the red light does not flash. I have to press on it pretty hard for like 5 seconds(max) for the red light to flash and the task to work. When I press locks it locks the doors but when I press the unlock it doesn’t unlock. The trunk opens but again I have to press pretty hard and for 5 seconds. When I lock the doors with the remote I can’t open it so I have to use the key and when I do that and open the door the alarm goes off until I put the key in the ignition. Please help I do not know what to do I’m new to Benz this is my first car and first Benz. All help will be appreciated . Thanks!!

Unplug your battery for 5 minutes and then reconnect and see if that helps.

If you only;y have 1, go (quickly) to MB dealer and order a 2nd key while you can easily drive there.

After you have perfect, new key, then worry about fixing older one.
