Troubles with STAR on my W208

I've got a STAR system that I use all the time on my W211 E55 but I'm having problems trying to get it to work on my CLK.

First question, do I just use the multiplexer and connect it to the OBDII port? I did that but when I run the quick test I get an error about a problem with circuit 15.

I tried accessing the control modules (seats, climate control, radio, etc) but it keeps telling me "incorrect vehicle adapter cable". Do I need to use one of the other cables that came with my STAR system and plug in somewhere besides OBDII?

FWIW, the battery is new and I had a battery tender attached when I did this. The transmission and O2 sensors are unplugged however because I'm in the middle of dropping the transmission.

You need the cable with a round 38 pin connector for the multiplexer. The diagnostics plug is under the hood, passenger side toward the back.

Do I just ignore the OBDII port when using STAR on the 208, or do I need to use both ports, depending on which system I am working on?

If the vehicle you are working on has the round port under the hood then you will need to use it. The OBD port in the vehicle is for emissions, and is very limited. Mercedes was trying very hard to limit what joe blow could get5 into.
