Hood doesn't fully close
Hi folks,
this neat little pop-up popped up so I thought I'd use it...I have a 2002 208 Elegance with a hood that worked fine until my wife took the car out for a spin. Now, it opens to completion (bong) but on closure, fails to close the windows, engage with the lock or go "bong". The dash light flashes permanently after beeping for a while when the ignition is turned on and the boot only operates with the key. (happened at the same time). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. RAP

RAP73......when center console power roof switch is not being actuated and it's lamp is flashing at 1Hz, indicates that either your soft top compartment cover or the rear bow, has malfunctioned (e.g.not closed and/or locked properly).
This is why your power roof will not complete it's closing cycle. Additionally, whenever the roof is not fully open or closed, to prevent the compartment cover and trunk lids from colliding, your fob or trunk release switch will no longer open the trunk.
Pending diagnosis/troubleshooting to determine the cause of the malfunction, you'll find detailed instructions to manually finish closing and locking the roof, described in the 'practical hints' section of your owner's manual.

Thanks for the replies but the problem was different.
There was a broken wire leading to/from the bow, which was replaced in front of me and the hood now works perfectly.
The guy said this is very common (in the hinge of the roof cover) and often breaks even though garages say it is a faulty bow etc and charge hundreds for a 10 minute soldering job. Another poor design from MB.
