CLK won't cold start
ive been trying to search this forum for solutions to my problem and can't seem to find the exact same issue. I have a 1998 Clk 320. Some mornings the car won't start. It keeps cranking and cranking and still won't turn over. Depending on the day this may happen many times or not at all.
I then noticed that when the issue happens the temperature gauge shows the engine temperature to be around 40 or 80 (when it was sitting overnight and it's not hot out). If I out the inviting on "on" and the gauge is at 0 then it will stary. If it's up it won't and will not start until it cranks many time or I wait until the engine temperature shows 0. When I drive there are no problems. The car starts after no problem when it's warm.
I have changed the crank shaft sensor and my mechanic has changed the temperature gauge inside the engine but still the same problem. I will be taking it to my mechanic again and he will run diagnostics but I'm wondering if anyone else has the same issue?
Thanks so much
