Inside the armrest 2001 CLK 320

Well hullo, there's a foam bottom of the inside of the armrest which when removed reveals teh secretness!!!

And here we see a smaller plug and an antenna connector?

And also another plug (which curiously also lights up at night!)

Soooo I've looked, really I have, and I come to you my fellow Benzoids.. Can anyone tell me what these are for? First guess is a cell phone connector.. but which type? And the second plug... what's that for?

I'm really kinda curious about this and would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,

Just curious, but what were you trying to stash when you found these things? LOL

/me looks shifty

Uhhh ...nuffin!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Actually I stumbled across it while removing stuff.. the cover piece ...moved. So I tugged on it and voila!

On reading more via googling it to death it *appears* that while this is probably the connector for the Timeport, It is possible to use a v60 kit instead. not really sure though and would appreciate it if anyone knew for sure.

The two phone connectors are for the phone handset, whether it be a Timeport or a V60. Either will work. The lighted plug is a courtesy light. Did you pull it out or was it laying like that? It should be clipped into the wall of the compartment.

Oh good lord a courtesy light?

LOL. Talk about over engineering.

Seriously though, thanks for the info.

Does anyone know if a dealership will install a Mercedes V60 phone kit bought off of ebay or someplace? Or are they going to insist on buying the bits an pieces through them?

Or is this going to be a dealership by dealership thing?

I doubt they will for laibility reasons f something is wrong with it. I'd try a car stereo shop that does hands free phone installs. Then again, it never hurts to ask MB. All they can say is no.
