The old roof problem again!

Hi all,

just picked up a CLK230K with an inactive soft top. I was told by the chap I bought it off the roof motor leaks and that’s why it doesn’t work. However...

ive stripped it all down and got found the roof motor isn’t leaking at all. The roof is up but when I start the process of putting the roof down the windows drop as they should. Then all that happens is the switch flashes. I’ve tried the relay trick and I’ve checked over all fuses.

Just wondering if there is anything else that could be the culprit before I go and buy a new pump?

Suggest holding off on buying a new pump because it's more then likely not the cause of your roof being inoperative and if it is, through A208 production, 2 very different hydraulic pump assemblies were used.

You need to further diagnose why your power roof in inoperative and a good place to begin would be to first decode what the power roof's blinking lamp is telling you.

Read the enclosed document carefully, as it describes 4 different scenarios.

Thanks for your help. Got it sorted. Turns out the rear headrests, although down were no wound back fully. Roof now works a treat!
