Erratic Fuel Gauge

I’m having some strange issues with my fuel gauge. The car ‘appears’ to be going through a rate of fuel quicker than my RX8, yet on the onboard computer I’m averaging 24mpg.

I stuck £20 in it the other day and have done no more than 20 miles in it and it’s no showing 0 miles and the fuel gauge is off the bottom of the scale.

The only anomaly is that I parked it on a kerb for a couple of hours and it read low but then it regained a bit of fuel level as driving.

Just wondered if anyone else had this issue as I reuse to believe it’s doing single figure mpg!

Get a second job and purchase a fuel level sensor.

I have enough jobs as it is! - the joys of being self employed!

But yea thanks, appears to be that these sensors are a bit naff. For the time being I’ll just brim it and refill when the light comes on. Not being my daily driver I’m a bit reluctant to just fill it for the sake of it but kinda makes sense.
