out of state dealer 430
Thanks for your input on the white 2000 CLK 430 (k2a, k3, k4, 37k miles). I'm close to closing the deal on this car. I was able to talk them from $40k down to $36k. A couple of questions, has anyone dealt with a mercedes benz dealer from another state than the state they're in? I live here in WA state, and the MB dealer that has this car is in Texas. I haven't seen the car in person (only pictures which look good), but they assured me it's in excellent condition, and it's a starmarked. I got the CARFAX report, and it's clean. What do you guys think of this deal? Should I be worry since I haven't seen the car? The shipping is $1300, and if I want another extended warranty for 3 years (100k miles), it's another $1500. Is this a good deal for the extended warranty? Again, your input will help me. Thanks.

You are thinking about dropping nearly 40 grand on a car...GET ON A PLANE AND GO SEE IT.
Surely, an $800.00 plane ticket is worth the 40,000.00 investment? These days...you may even be able to get a better ticket price than that. If you are afraid of someone else buy the car, send them a thousand dollar deposit. Buy a plane ticket (7 day advance fare), and go see it !
The fact that it is a Texas car is a good thing.....it probably never saw a winter. Also, the fact that it is a dealer would make me more comfortable. H
OWEVER...you really need to go see and drive the car. You will sleep better....because they for sure aren't going to ship the car until they have your money in their pocket.

Ask the dealer to fax you a copy of all serivce records, if they were not the original selling dealer find out who was and with the vin you can get their records too.
