Spring Removal

Anyone know the steps to remove springs on a 2000 clk 320?

Yes, pretty much the same for nearly all standard suspension recent Mercedes cars:

1) jack up car or use lift
2) remove wheel
3) compress spring with spring compressor
4) remove spring

Is there a special kind of spring compressor? The one I had goes inside the spring. Problem.....spring coils too small.......

Yes, there is a special spring compressor. If you are on the cheap, you can get a Klann. Otherwise you can get one at your Mercedes dealer. Other people have reported success with Sirtools, etc. but I find their quality (and thus safety) to be questionable.
