01 CLK320 Throttle Issue
A little background:
The car sat in the Tucson desert for about a month and a half (hood closed for 1 week, remainder with the hood up to deter packrats). The car ran great before parking. Came back to get the car after the car sat and found the car to start up just fine, but the throttle was non-existent. The car threw the code P0120 for the throttle position sensor. Replaced the sensor, still experiencing the same thing. Tore into it today and found 2 throttle body harness wires split from an animal (yellow and white wires). After reconnecting the wires, I am able to slowly get the rpms up to 1700 (was idling at 1100), but no higher. No codes are being thrown. Runs slightly rough at idle.
Would starting the car with the 2 wires split cause damage to the throttle body itself? I have tried reset procedures with no luck. Any ideas?
I apologize for the large photos.
