none of the button on my 1999 clk320 do not seem to be working at all. how do i remove and repair?

Are you asking to remove the trim around the shifter that has a number of controls or are you asking for the area above the radio?

area with and around the shifter. none of my buttons around the shifter work at all it seems. i bought this car used and we are trying to work out all the bugs. hoping to have this car for a very long time.

very easy to remove the shift surroundings....literally pull it up and off...use credit card to get your fingers under one edge and work it around. you need to unscrew the shift knob to remove it and there are a few screws up front. All the buttons are hooked up to a harness
