Trunk opens too hard when released - adjustable?

Trunk opens too hard when released - adjustable?
1999 CLK 320 Coupe

When released the trunk flies open with a force that seems too hard. Are the springs adjustable so that it opens less forcefully?

You can adjust the tension of the trunk springs several notches for more or less tension..Very simple DIY!
