Any Known Problems With 2001 CLK 320?

I am about to go out of warranty and I have had my share of problems, over the past 3 years.

Are there any known chronic problems I should check or watch-out for?

Thanks.

from my experience

my car was built January 2001:

fuel senders (symptom may show as tank not being full after a fill up)

power windows drop back down after express up close (updated control module after April 2001)

oil quality sensor had to be replaced on mine (was getting 'perform service on time' message on MFD.

The most frequent w208 problems I've heard about are:

fuel senders (high sulfur content fuel corrodes sender contacts) updated design resolves this problem

the dreaded window drop (six repairs for me)

Hal

I have a question about the window drop. Does the window drop all the way to the bottom?

When i use the auto up/down, sometimes my window will start to go down, then stop and travel up a bit, but will never go all the way down. Is this what you are talking about?

Also, I had the fuel sensors replaced a couple of years a go.

Thanks

what will happen:

the window will go all the way up (close) and then immediately drop back down about 3 1/2" from the completely closed position.

You can manually get the window the close by not engaging the express up.

Thanks...I have that problem too! Is there a simple adjustment or will the control assembly have to be replaced?

It depends on what is wrong - under the 'best' circumstance a re-synch could correct this if the module lost its memory due to the battery being disconnected, but -

I've never been able to re-synch the window (nor has the SA at the dealer) as described in the owner's manual.

as a result I've had:

a) window motors failed and replaced

b) window regulators replaced

c) two different control modules (supposed to be one module that controls both windows.
