2000 CLK430
if trying to put back on the original letters, youd have to go purchase the thin 3M double sided adhesive. getting them straight would have to just be eyeballing it i suppose, maybe running a strip of tape along the back where you want the badge to go as a line for the letters. keep in mind that once you put the letters/numbers down, they arent going anywhere unless you pull them off and do it all over again. you gonna be rocking a CLK6000 or something creative and badass like that? just kidding

No i had shaved off my letters before, now I want to put the clk430 back but I don't want it to look lopsided like I see on some peoples car... I was wondering if there was an easier way to do it instead of me using a ruler and my 20/20.

The dealers service dept. can order templates for all stock emblems.
This is what they use when they put them on at the factory.

I don't know about Mercs, but usually when you buy the letters they come enclosed in a bit of low-density foam. You peel off the backing tape, line the whole row up (still in the foam) on the back of the car, press down then take away the foam.
Even the manufacturer doesn't line up the individual letters

before i got rid of my old s class, the guy wanted the "S320" badge back on the car. i went to the mb dealer to get a new one and just like carl said they come on that piece of foam so they line up straight.
