Hi All...thinking of buying a friend's car...great shape but can't find an AMG version although it's badged as an AMG. Any idea on CLK 320 AMG?

Thx.

How miles on the clock? Will friend provide docs on what has hasn't been completed maintenance? That's key for 15-20 yr old car. As for AMG only the CLK55 is the only one of the Three (W208) class. You'll find because of the body cladding/molding it favors the AMG type
unfortunately it's not a true AMG.

Hi...125K on the clock. All records. Maintained very well. Only changes were newly painted bumpers due to some fading due to Las Vegas sun. Figured the AMG was just an accessories package, if I am correct.

Good afternoon
Just the side skirts and front/rear bumpers which has that curvy line along the sides....i wish it had the 55 engine, but I'll be good with my ponies...CLK still looks good and the engine is tough as leather! Pics?

From the pics, it looks like he just got AMG rims and slapped on the badge. The body skirts and bumpers are standard 320 items and not the AMG pieces that would be seen on a 430 or 55.

It's not an AMG...none made in that configuration...exhause is not AMG...might be an add on tip but exhaust totally different on real AMG...get rid of the emblem...you are considered a "poser" by all the AMG folks....do search for poser and you'll get the idea...nice looking 320

Thanks Cindy...yeah, I am not under any illusion about it being an AMG...know it's not. I'm not going to rip badging, weals and exhaust off. I could care less what anyone thinks of me, frankly. My life is full of joy...what people think of me being an "AMG poser" doesn't even register on my radar. LOL. Have a great weekend!

well it's a great car, but there is no amg version of it... there is literally no such thing as w208 3.2 factory amg, you can put some amg stuff on it from clk 55 but it's not the same

I absolutely love my 208 soft top and have enjoyed every minute of the hundreds of hours I've spent working on it. but with the benefit of hindsight I would spend a bit more and buy a 209 second time round. The 209 seems to be better designed with Rack and pinion steering and simpler power roof. It also looks a bit prettier as well.

Well some may disagree with the statement, however not a fan of the W209s headlights kinda reminds me of the Porsche 911 w/ the changing the rounded look to the "other" shape.
The body of the w208 is just smooth, and silky pop bottle like look.
