Question OBD Plug locations

Hi All, I hope all is well in all your worlds . I am still new to this and my car...CLK320 v6 w208 1999...Loving every moment driving it..
Could some one be kind enough to help me with the location point of the OBD plug points ..my mechanic and I have found the one under the bonnet/hood .. but we have been led to believe that there is a second one under the dash .
The car is right hand drive as I am in Australia... He works on number of merc's locally but as we all know every one and model is different... and has the full y up to date SCAN TOOL (snapon). To check any fault codes..the car is running tike a top.. but FULL service is due shortly..plugs ,filters, fluids etc.... just wanting to keep her that way
Any help or advice will be greatly appriecated
Cheers to al

2001 CLK320 Cabrio
Hello Dave......In my extensive career travels, I've only had the privilege of visiting Australia once (e.g.the Queens land and the Sidney area) and found it to be both a welcoming and joyful experience.

As an original owner of a 2001 A208 cabriolet, I believe that you'll find your recently purchased 1999 CLK320, with proper preventive maintenance, the reliability will even surpass most current models.

Here in the U.S., as of 1996, only implemented a subset of OBDII on the 208 and 210 models, which only brought out power, ground and a single ended K line to the OBDII connector.

In the U.S. the location, of the OBDII connector was under the driver side dash panel and only intended to show emission DTCs ,

In order to read and clear network, body, chassis and deeper DTCs, you have to use a scanner that connects to the 38 Pin engine bay diagnostic connector and understands the earlier proprietary software protocols (e.g. MB SDS).

Thank you VERY much for your help and guidance.. we have found the under Bonet/hood connector we just thought there may be another ... all is good,
The old girl has only done 256K..Km and bought her off the original owner (75 years old)... whom I am sure had "ocd" by the way she has been maintained
