Jacking Plate

Does anyone know if either this 911 jacking plate would fit (in the hole in the rocker panel for jacking using the factory jack) or if there is one available for the W208?

Thanks!

I'm not sure what you are trying to do...the 208 jack just fits into the hole in the rocker panel and you just crank up the jack...nothing else needed

Thanks for the reply and I should have been more clear.

I use a floor jack to get the car up on jack stands for doing maintenance work. The jacking plate allows one to use the factory jacking hole with a floor jack and then the jack stand is slid under the jack pad (the rubber insert that is attached to the underside of the car, in all 4 corners).

At around 1:35 in this video you can see Ken uses a bolt to accomplish this but I would prefer a jacking plate. They're quite popular in the Porsche and BMW world.

It wouldn't be hard at all to fabricate one out of a sufficiently long bolt and a bit of steel plate. A few minutes with a mig welder and it's done.

What ever you do please ensure your on a level surface...i don't trust that MBs jack at all. I had to swap out my rear tire, and I used the back, and realized it wasn't stable, so I used another car jack to go under the car.
