Had my CLK for a few months now and after driving a pickup for 10 years it feels like a rocket ship (1998 CLK 320 Cabrio)
She is an old bird who has picked up many faults but the most annoying (at the moment) is loud wind noise coming from the front where the roof meets the windshield frame. After closer inspection I can see I am missing one of these bolts / pillars / posts. They attach to the limit switch housing and can be seen with the roof open from above (situated on top of the windshield to the left and right) ....
Any idea on what it is called? I borrowed these pics from someone else on this forum but they fabricated a new one without finding out what its called. I could do the same, but my 6 month old will not give me a chance!
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Thanks for your reply.
The stealership said they don't stock that part (!) and told me to purchase a full mechanism for £100's so I guess I will indeed fabricate one at some point.
Time has never moved so fast! haha
