won't shift into rev and park with pedal depressed
I have a 2006 CLK350. Can not get it to shift up into reverse and then park if I am on an incline with my foot on the brake. When I release the brake it slips right in. I figured that I was a genius and so I would just replace the brake light switch. Then I noticed that I was as dumb as a box of hammers because there was no switch. On ALL my other Benz's it was always touching the brake pedal arm and on this one it was never there???? Also, my brake lights work absolutely fine. Does anyone know how to solve this mystery?

The shift interlock won't let you move the lever because it can't 'know"' that you have your foot on the brake pedal, but you posted in the W208 CLK forum, which have the ubiquitous brake light switch.
While early W209 CLK models also used a brake light switch however, on your 2006 CLK350 post facelift model, the brake pedal switch was eliminated and the BAS system is used to determine brake pedal application.

Yes, MB finally bought out full diagnostic capability to later CLK models to the OBDII connector, so you should be able to see and clear any diagnostic trouble codes.
On your W209, the signal from the brake light system that releases the interlock comes from the brake system hydraulics.
I'm not privy to the specific details of the W209, but because you mentioned that the malfunction only occurs when parking on an incline, have you checked the fluid level in the brake reservoir? Also, I believe that the source of the signal is the brake hydraulic pressure switch located under the brake fluid reservoir.
My suggestion would be to search the W209 forum for further assistance.
Lastly, if needed, MB has provided a shift lock override capability, for which I've included the details, in an attachment below.

Thank you for your help. You are truly an awesome person! I will try to figure out how to get on that site (W209). It took me an hour to figure out how to get a message out on this site (not very computer savvy). And of course check the brake fluid level again.
