clk430, dilemma of a car

I have a 2002 for a few months now and my first thought was to change the suspension. Didn't do it, and now after driving the car more I just wonder if it's worth it. I love the way it cruises with 80-90 miles/h but I still hate the way it corners, dives through braking, or even downshifting.. And the transmission is what I can't get a feel of. What's the use of upgrading to Kleemann shocks when I can't really shift the way I want through a corner? Downshifting from third to second for example there is a big gap, let the auto do it there is a big lag etc.. Most probably will upgrade the cheap way (H&R + koni) to avoid diving, I just hope I won't hurt the comfort part of the car too much.. Thinking of using 4/4 pads.
I miss a manual tranny or even a good tiptronic like my previous Porsche had.
Still I love the car cause it's a beauty

don't forget the impact of tires and rims. They can and will change the feel of cornering, bumps, brakes and your right foot.
