CLK 320 soft top - potential missing switch? Or wrong placement
Hi all, have been using this site religiously for the past 6 months as I try to repair an auction bought car...I know, I know, I'm a glutton for punishment. Anyway, in the course of my diagnosis and parts replacement (recently replace the bow lock with a new one from Top Hydraulics, thanks Klaus!) I just today notice the part shown in the photos attached that appears to be damaged, installed incorrectly, or to have parts missing. It is on the roof mechanism on the passenger side, next to what I believe is the bow cylinder. I know there is the bow limit switch on the driver side as I had to replace that one but this seems different. I'm worried that its getting damaged when the roof is retracting. Any one know if it looks right? Any one have a working soft top that they can check to compare? Appreciate any and all input.
