W208 230K Noisy Exhaust
Hi Folks,
Noticed recently on my W208 230K Cab that the exhaust seems noisy but only under load ~1.5K - 2.5K rpm; almost sounds like it's a bit blown. I've owned the car for 9 years and whilst most of the time I drive a much quieter car, it hasn't always been like this. I had a local garage check it and they said the only issue found was a broken bolt / bracket which they resolved but the noise still there. They said it isn't blowing.
I have heard that the manifolds can crack on these cars and mine has done 126K. What are the symptoms of this and how would it be diagnosed? If I rev the car at idle, it sounds fine and noise only heard when in gear / under load.
If it is the manifold how much would it be to repair or replace (roughly).
