No, you can't, though Alpine has a Nav screen just like that with an option that allows you to still use your steering wheel buttons. Kenwood should have one out sometime this year. Can't wait. In the meantime, that small issue is worth dealing with compared to all the things I get with the unit.

Hope this helps.

Thats awesome you wouldnt happen to have any other information on this unit, like the model number or something of the sort. Thanks...I cant stop looking at that screen, I loved the fixed screen way more then the flip screens.

if you like the fixed screen deal... check out the Eclipse AVN2454... its also a fixed screen double-din unit, with built in NAV system... and with a super clean 8V pre-amp output too...

i have the eclipse unit, and i love it... so much betta than the stock COMAND

yeah the eclipse is alot better, but also more money...

Why anyone would go with a single DIN flip out screen unit when you have a double DIN space is beyond me, double DIN screen units look 100% better.

Correction

The alpine is not a double Din. It's a flipout unit, but it does have the possibility to hook up your buttons on your steering wheel to control it. Actually, the option will work with any Alpine units.

If given a choice, I'd much rather have a double din unit and not have steering wheel control, than the other. :-)

When I had my BMW, I added just about all the Dinan upgrades that was available, because, as long as the work as done by an authorized BMW dealer, it did not void the warranty. Unfortunately, Mercedes does not do that on AMG upgrades.

I don't get why, but, oh well, will just have to wait a bit :-)
As long as it's from the cat back you will be fine with the warranty. I was in the same boat a few months back and asked the service guys at MB first to make sure then went with Eisenmann and LOVE IT!

The car looks great. Nice and clean. I love the fog lights in your body kit, which is unlike all the other stuff we commonly see.

The system looks way clean, almost like MBZ should have done it like that to begin with!

Keep up the great work.

Nice ride, you should do the DIY mesh kit for the front bumper scoop area. It would make the care long longer. Do a search, someone in the forum did thier own and it looks sick and lite on the wallet.

I like it, it looks nice. Did you have to replace all the fiber optic wiring to go with the aftermarket head unit?

What do you mean by long longer? (I assume you mean look longer, but how?)
Also, did a search and could not find a photo anywhere. Any ideas?

Also, no, I did not have to replace the fiber optic wiring. The company that installed it told me they used something to 'loop it', so it wouldn't affect my console. They left everything as it was. They did an awesome job :-)

Yup, it actually makes the car look longer, just a visual effect. What do you mean looped it. Can you be more specific. I am sure alot of guys here would like to know what they did to that we can ask find a installer that knows how to do the same in our respective areas.

I think he was talking about putting some mesh on the lower part of your new front bumper, kind of like the lorinser front bumpers have the mesh in them.

Read the previous pages of this post--it's already been covered. In summary, it's his car, his right, and his business.
