99' CLK 430 vs. 350z ???
Hey guys,
I was just wondering who would win this.
A 1999 CLK 430 vs. 2004 350z convertible A/T.
My cousin has the Z and always argues with me, so I wanted the heads up on it.
0-60 and 1/4 mile.
I know the Z has more HP but less torque. Plus the convertible might be slower cuz its heavier right?Factor in the A/T trans and i think it might be close.
Thanks for your help.

The Z is a 2-seater for those who cannot (or choose not) to buy a new CLK 430 or CLK 500. Making it faster in a straight line does not make it better.
The CLK 430 is a classic design. You can roll the CLK on Sunset Blvd. all day and people know what that is and it evokes admiration. When I see the Z, all I know is that it is some new japanese car which has no heritage and probably some punk kid is behind the wheel.

E550 Coupe
haha if he wanted a fast Z, he already made two big mistakes...automatic and convertible. i also think the convertible Zs look kinda weird compared to the coupe.

buddy! any real sports car enhusiast will know that Z cars have alot more heritage than CLK, ok maybe the company name is not as classy, but more than 35 years ago the first generation Z cars known as the 240z were porsche killers both on race track and money wise, which generation is the w208?? first. now which generation is the 350z? hmm... gotta count my fingers oh ya! 5th generation. thats why the 35th aniversary eddition is coming out. (might be 300hp with same engine or the new 4L V6 with 350hp to keep it with the 35 theme, it won't be called 350z if it's 4L tho, but no one really knows.)
yes I love my clk but I think your opinion is biased therefore I am proving you wrong. Z cars earns my respect, and next time don't bash cars without knowing what you are talking about, it might make you look very unknowledgeable, and you don't have to try to get me back for my poor spelling or grammar, it's not the point. debadge the Z and get some rims, people will think it's a porsche.

I Bought myself a clk 430, 1999 that had it's engine blown apart by his previous owner, ( a girl that thought she could drive through 2 feet deep water pond) the best engine for it i found was a 2002 cl 500 engine which for my amazement fits perfectly, so Bcuz of this i really don't know how a clk 430 will compare to a 350z but my friend has a 370z NISMO edition 2011 and a raced him from 20mph up and drove by him like a mclaren would a pinto. For these i fell in love with my stock clk 430 with STOCK cl 500 engine that just has been reprogram to accept the changes. Before i forget, I know for a fact that 350z are a disgrace, and ain't worth there weight so please don't compare the 350z with the 430 clk.
