CLK430
Cracked dash!! Ahhhhh!!!!

A crack appeard in the dash of my CLK430 yesterday. Literally in front of our eyes. It was bizarre. We were driving and suddenly, a little line appeared above the air bag on the passenger side and it extended to the top part of the air bag. Not only does it look awful, but I wonder if it's a safety issue. Will the air bag burst open? I doubt it but had to ask. Thoughts? Also, I called the local MB dealer today to get a quote on replacing it - $1100 - does that sound about average? Thanks in advance!!!

Whoa, insane man! Sorry to hear about that. Any pics? And $1100 sounds pretty steep.

This is a common problem on certain CLK's.
Is your car still under warranty?

I have this too. I've learned to live with it. It was covered under warranty but my car is out of warranty now.
