Greetings from South Yorkshire. Question re. Sump bolts
After years of playing with BMW’s I’ve just treated myself to a cheap and cheerful Spring/Summer project. £600 worth of CLK, all works but a transmission fluid leak when warm. Crawling underneath it looks like a previous owner has repaired a leaky sump gasket with a big blob of metal putty so I’ve ordered a gasket and a filter cos looking at this forum I’ve got the confidence to drain, clean and replace.
Question - Do you have to renew the transmission sump bolts (and if so, why ?) Thanks in anticipation. D.D.
