Question EIS Removal

I know I need to replace my EIS. I also realize it need to be programed to match my VIN. How do I remove it? I have the tool. If I remove the instrument cluster will I be looking down at it for easy removal or do I need to get to it from below?
Thanks in Advance!!

All you need is to do to remove the EIS, is to remove the outer ring collar from the module, by turning it anti-clockwise with the help of a small screwdriver in the ring's slot, upon which you'll be able to pull the EIS out, from the inside of the dashboard.

To pull the EIS out from the back of the dashboard, the quickest option would be to remove the bottom panel, located above the brake pedal, by just removing a couple of Phillips screws.

Hi-

I did this but was not able to reach the EIS from underneath. Am I doing something wrong? I even removed the instruments to try and get its through there and had no luck either. Anyone have ideas?

Learned what EIS is today. Electronic Ignition switch. Kind of learned how to remove it, but I really rather doubt that I will ever try it myself. Anyway, they say you learn something new every day. I got done early.

I'd love to get a look at a dead one. Curious if it is cold solder joints or bad caps that takes them out.
