Angry I am sick of this ...

Hey guys . I know this has been already discused so many times .
But I am tired of this fuel gauge which gives me wrong and false reading on my CLK 320 2001. Sometimes it works , and sometimes it does not .This time i changed my fuel pump, and the fuel filter, since then this gauge kept giving me this false readings.
Now ,my car is out of warrnty, and i want to fix this problem by my own , or i will have my mechanic do it .
I know that, the Fuel Level Sending Unit has to be changed . Which one do i have to change left or right? or Both? I noiticed that the left one has a Pump, and the right one without a Pump! Did anyone of you has an experince with this one ? please i need some details . thanks for help

remeber it being pretty complicated, i would just hire someone with more experience to do it. on mine they changed all of them. if i were you i would just buy the parts from fastlane or mercedesparts and have a dealer put it in. i would try to buy the factory part, not an aftermarket part.

good luck!

i have the saem problem in my car, it actually a loose contact or in the gas gauge in teh tank, it's actually a recurring problem on the old c-lass body, the dealer basically just needs to change a small part in the gas gauge in the gas tank and it should work fine again

..........the W208 Clk has three re-occuring problems that yet do not have a satisfactory fixes. One is the fuel guage problem the other is window regulator problem, where the window does not go up completely. A third one is the truncated numbers in the instrument cluster. An annoying part is that all these problems are transient and unpredictable and often go away when you take your car to the dealer. As a result, various cures have been claimed but I don't think anyone really knows the solution. The instrument cluster problem can be solved by COMPLETELY changing your cluster and nothing short of this works predictably well. And as far as i Know, no permanent and predictable solution to the fuel guage problem or the window problem have been shown.

gas gauge problem.

I have had the same problem and they've fixed mine twice under warranty.

Now that my car is out of warranty, it is broken again.

I wonder if MB-USA should fix this free!!! Isn't there a recall on this problem?
