Trunk Lid will not open electrically
Hi, I have a clk320 yr 2000. after charging the battery using a mains charger then closing the trunk it is now stuck closed. i cannot open the windows or trunk or move the mirrors using the centre console. There is no power on the switches.
I cannot open then trunk using the mechanical key (I’ve used wd40, lubricant etc) as the cylinder does not rotate in any direction.
i can open and close the windows using the key fob only.
my assessment is that it’s ECU thinks the car is breached in security.
any help on how to get to trunk?

As a non-mechanic, here's what I would try in no particular order.
1. Check fuses under the bonnet/hood.
2. Try starting the car and then trying the switches. Your battery may not be able to hold enough charge for things to work properly.
3 If you have a coupe you can get in through the back seat.
4. Try this to "Jump start" the boot lock >>>
5. If you have a soft top, try putting the roll bar up and down.
6 Very worst case - you have to cut your way in >>>>
GOOD LUCK.
PS. Good second hand convertible boot locks with working keys go for about £200 and are like hens teeth to get hold of. A coupe lock will not work on the soft top. I spent years looking for a good lock and was lucky to buy a boot lid with a working lock about 2 years ago.
