Couple of questions from a new board member

Just wanted to say hello to everyone, and announce that I just got a white 2000 clk430 about a month ago. So far, I like it a lot.

I have already started to do some small modications like the flat hood emblem, and AMG pedals. I need to get a shift knob from the 2001+ CLK's and I want to change out the cup holders since they don't function properly, as well as switch to #1 pads. I will be doing all work myself, as I believe that is the only way to learn about the ins and outs of your car.

Anyways, I have a few questions about the CLK, that hopefully you guys will be able to answer.

First, I want to know what temperature your car is running at normally. On my car, it normally goes to a little bit above the 80 mark, but there have been times when I get near 100, and I don't know if that is normal or not.
My other question, is for the people with 2001-2002 clk's, and that is if someone can take a pic of where the emergency trunk release button is on the inside of the trunk. I will be putting one in, and I would like to place it in the stock location.

Thanks in advance for anyone who replys.
Great forum BTW.

i believe our CLK's do tend to run at high temps. Mine used to run at 80 on cool days, and all the way up to 100 on hot days w/ the A/C on.

welcome to the boards =)

Yes, it is true--our car has a higher set of temp ranges than normal cars. My BMW is locked on at the middle...but our MBs fluctuate.

Welcome to the forum. This is a great place with great people.

Mine does tend to un around 90-100 on hot days.

I am interested in your mods. Let me know how the #1 pad installation goes. I am looking to lower my ride and am trying to figure out what to get, so i can get the best bang for my buck
